I was born in Denver in 1956, and besides a short interlude in Florida in 1988, have lived here all my life. I went to college at the University of Colorado, graduating in 1979 with a B.A. in Biology. I went directly into medical school at the University of Colorado Medical School where I received my M.D. in 1983. I spent 1983 thru 1987 in my OB/GYN residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. I moved to Ft. Myers, Florida for private practice in 1987 but returned home to Denver in 1988. I joined Dr. Stuart Gottesfeld at Denver Women's Clinic in 1988 and practiced there for three years. I received my board certification in OB/GYN in 1989. At this point in time, I was eager to open my own practice, and partnered with another physician to establish Associates in Women's Health in 1992. That practice flourished and eventually grew to four physicians and a nurse practitioner.
I married in 2000 and was suddenly the stepmother of three teenage children. At this time, I felt the stirrings of a longing to experience the simplicity and intimacy of solo practice. I made the decision to leave A.W.H in 2001 and started my own solo gynecology practice, Dianne C. Stone, MD, PC.
I really feel that it is a privilege to be allowed into your lives. I consider this a partnership. Your care is always best served when we are making decisions together based on information we both have and a mutual respect for each other's opinions and insights. I promise to do my best to be compassionate, caring, open-minded, honest and thorough. You deserve nothing less.
