I recommend Femguard + Balance for my patients looking for a herbal supplement to help with hormone balance in conditions like PMS or perimenopause. Femguard + Balance does not contain hormones (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone) but does contain estrogenic and progestational herbs such as Black Cohosh and Vitex, as well as DIM and Chrysin which help to decrease the production of estrogen in the fat cells and calcium-D-glucorate to help increase the clearance of estrogen metabolites from the system. This supplement also provides anti-oxidant protection with rosemary, resveratrol, grape seed extract and EGCg from green tea. The B vitamins, B6, B12 and folate are included to help promote proper cell differentiation, including cells in the cervix, which may help with cervical dysplasia. Calcium and magnesium are also present. I do not recommend using this supplement if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
